FAQ

How do you unlock Nightmare Mode in Last Stop?
The update showcase names level 2 as the requirement — 'I believe', in the presenter's own words — so treat it as a low-level gate rather than a grind. It is a separate mode you enter directly, and a party of up to six can go in together.
How many players can play Nightmare Mode?
Up to six. The showcase states it directly: 'you can have up to six people play this mode.' That is the only confirmed party-size change — normal runs and nightmare runs share every other rule we can verify.
What is the difference between Nightmare Mode and normal Mode?
Three confirmed changes: it stays night for the entire run, zombies keep spawning while you drive and while you loot, and the showcase reads the horde as faster and more aggressive. Boss bars also scale up — the values on this page are the recorded maxima.
How much HP do the nightmare bosses have?
In a recorded full clear, the boss bars read Dracula 12,000, Anubis 9,000, and Fred 20,000. Only Dracula has a verified normal-mode number to compare — 9,000 — which puts the nightmare version a third higher. Whether party size scales the bars is unknown.
What is the Finish Nightmare Mode badge?
The proof you completed the mode. Its official description reads: 'Nightmare mode is really scary at night, but the problem is that it's always night in Nightmare mode.' It had 158 awards as of 16 September 2026, and it is a side achievement, not an ending.
Does the sun ever rise in Nightmare Mode?
No. The showcase is explicit — 'it's going to stay night all the time' — and the badge description jokes about the same thing. The morning that closes out a normal ride never comes, so there is no visibility break to plan around.

What is Nightmare Mode in Last Stop?

Nightmare Mode is the harder way to run the same road: a separate mode where the sun never comes up, up to six players ride together, and the horde never stops coming. It arrived with the September update — the same drop as the new buses — and because it launched days before this page was written, most of what can be said about it comes from two places: the update showcase and a recorded full clear.

One honesty note up front. The game’s own Roblox description (checked 16 September 2026) still describes only the base loop — build the bus, scavenge, sell, fight. It names no Nightmare specifics at all. The mode’s permanent night is confirmed by an official source anyway, just a different one: the badge you get for finishing it. The details below are sourced line by line.

Night roads are event roads too — in the recording, a mothership rolls in over a residential street with an on-screen warning to shoot it down.

How do you unlock Nightmare Mode?

The unlock is low. The update showcase puts it at level 2 — with the presenter’s own hedge, “you need level two, I believe, to go into it” — so nobody should be locked out by progression. The other half of the entry rule is stated without hedging: up to six players can take the mode on together.

Both facts suggest the intended way to play it: a full squad of fresh characters walking straight into the dark. If that is your plan, decide roles before you spawn — who drives, who repairs, who sells — because the mode gives you very little quiet time to negotiate. The beginner guide covers the base loop every one of those roles serves.

What changes when the sun never comes up?

Three things, and the first one changes everything about how the run feels. In the showcase’s words: “it’s going to be night time, and it’s going to stay night all the time.” The Finish Nightmare Mode badge description confirms it from the official side — its full text is a joke about exactly this. There is no dawn, so there is no visibility break and no morning reset to pace your run around.

The second change is spawn pressure. Per the showcase, zombies spawn all the time — even while the bus is driving — and keep spawning around the bus at every looting stop. The recording shows both halves of that sentence.

A night highway with a zombie down and the kill feed still counting — in this mode the drive itself is a fight.

And the moment you step indoors to loot, the spawns follow you in — stops are no longer quiet shopping trips.

The third change comes with a caveat. The showcase reads the horde as “kind of moving fast… and they’re a little more aggressive” — while admitting it is not 100% sure. We print the read with the hedge attached: expect faster, pushier zombies, and don’t be surprised if tuning shifts while the mode is this new.

How should your run plan change?

The loop itself survives intact: drive, stop, loot, sell, roll out. What changes is the tax on every step of it, and the recording shows what paying that tax looks like — a hotbar stuffed with six to eight Medkits and a Repair Hammer at nearly all times. Budget for healing the way the bus upgrade priority tells you to budget for fuel: not a nice-to-have, the thing that ends the run when it runs dry.

Practical adjustments, in the order most runs will feel them:

  • Shorten looting windows. Spawns circle the bus at every stop, so sweep a building, sell, and leave. The keep-or-sell framework matters double when the clock never shows you daylight.
  • Treat checkpoints as the fight they are. The checkpoint routine — clear the zone, rescue, loot, roll — still works, but with waves arriving into permanent darkness, boarding early is even more expensive than usual.
  • Watch for grabs. Bosses in the recording grab players, and the escape is the same Fight Back prompt (mash F) the roadside vampire uses — see the vampire guide for the base version of that struggle.

How much stronger are the nightmare bosses?

This is where the recording earns its place. The full-clear video runs all three bosses in the mode, and their bars are on camera:

Dracula9,000 (verified)12,000+3,000 — a third higher

The nightmare graveyard opens with Dracula’s bar full at 12,000 — a third again above his verified 9,000 normal-mode pool. Our Dracula guide keeps the normal fight current.

Anubis boss bar reading 6,975 out of 9,000 HP inside the red dungeon in Last Stop Roblox Nightmare Mode

Anubis’s gold bar mid-fight reads out of 9,000 — the first number our Anubis page has ever been able to attach to him, with the caveat that it is one recording.

Fred's blue boss bar reading 5,275 out of 20,000 HP at the last stop in Last Stop Roblox Nightmare Mode

And at the last stop, Fred’s bar runs to 20,000 with an escort of zombies — the largest pool on the route, in either mode.

Two caveats belong next to those numbers. They are bar values as recorded on 12 September, read off one full clear — and nobody has pinned down whether nightmare bars scale with party size the way the fight itself might. Treat them as the current best measurements, not scripture. What they already tell you is directional: the mode’s ending fight asks for far more sustained damage than a normal ride, so the headshot discipline matters twice as much here.

What do you get for finishing Nightmare Mode?

A badge, and the right to say you did it. Finish Nightmare Mode is the official completion badge, and its published description is worth quoting in full: “Nightmare mode is really scary at night, but the problem is that it’s always night in Nightmare mode.” That single sentence is also the only official text confirming the mode’s headline rule.

The award counter shows how few have bothered: 158 awards as of 16 September 2026 — days after launch. One thing the badge is not: an ending. Nightmare completion is a side achievement; how the ride finishes is still decided by what you do with Fred at the last stop, as the endings and badges page keeps explicit. Until the mode grows its own documented rewards, the badge — and whatever bragging rights 158-in-the-world counts for — is the confirmed payout.

The mode details and quotes on this page are from the video Last Stop HUGE UPDATE (Codes, Nightmare Mode, Aliens, Buses, Class) by DustPlays, specifically the 04:03–04:33 segment covering Nightmare Mode (the level-2 hedge, the six-player cap, permanent night, constant spawns, and the presenter’s own uncertainty about zombie speed). The frames and all boss bar readings are from Last Stop Nightmare Mode - ALL BOSSES by HorrorJackStar, specifically the 00:52 mothership warning, 01:00 road fight, 03:00 indoor spawn, 09:20 and 12:12 Dracula graveyard frames, 21:40 Anubis, and 29:30 Fred. Frames carry the channel’s corner watermark, so each was cropped at the right edge before use. The game’s official Roblox description was checked on 16 September 2026 and, as noted above, does not cover Nightmare Mode. Text is our own write-up; frames are used with attribution.
